Plants and Animals of the Devils Marbles:
The devils marbles reserve is home to many kinds of animals, including snakes of variety e.g. black snake, red belly black snake and brown snake, lizards such as blue tongue and spiky black lizards, birds including the koel, dollarbird, rainbow bee-eater. The shade of the rocks are used as shelters and also provide perfect sun baking places for them and other coldblooded animals. Grasses are also a good place for shelter as is the sand that some animals choose to bury. The animals are well adapted to the heat an have techniques (such as sand burrowing) so they are shielded from the suns heat.
Wild grasses grow freely around the reserve and are surrounded by small shrubs and boabs. The plants are dry and long rooted as they have better access to water from the earth and allows them to survive in the heat for longer between rainfall.
